Fellowship applications now open
Calling students and early-career researchers, the APAN62 Fellowship program is now accepting applications.
Update: The Call for Fellowships has now closed.

If you have questions about the Fellowship programme, contact sec@apan.net.

Following the success of the APAN61 Fellowship Program, which selected 20 fellows from 10 economies, we are pleased to announce that the APAN62 Fellowship Program is now open for applications.

Fellowship eligibility

Full details on criteria and selection procedures are available at: https://apan.net/fellowship/

  • Fellows must be available for the entire week of 10 – 14 August, with attendance on the first day being mandatory.
  • Applicants with prior no-shows without notice will be automatically rejected under the Blacklisting Policy.
  • Applications are encouraged from graduate and undergraduate students, as well as young researchers.
  • Applicants presenting at APAN62 will receive priority consideration. Please note that presenting at APAN62 requires a separate submission under the Call for Presentation Proposals (to be issued later). Selection for fellowship does not guarantee acceptance as a presenter — both processes are managed independently. There will also be a conference component to APAN62. If you are interested in submitting a paper, you may do so here: https://apanconf.apan.net/ (Conference Call for Papers closes: 15 April 2026)

What is provided

The Fellowship program covers the costs of:

  • Registration Fee – Access to all sessions, workshops, and tutorials.
  • Food – Lunch, tea during the conference, and two social dinners. Note: Except during official APAN social events, fellows are responsible for their own dinner expenses.
  • Per-Diem Allowances – Covers airport-to-venue transport, breakfast, and remaining dinners. This may include a transport allowance from the international airport to accommodation (and vice versa) or other ground transportation and uncovered meals during the meeting.
  • Accommodation – Twin-sharing / dormitory basis with breakfast during APAN62 (venue to be notified to successful applicants).
    • If you plan to arrange your own accommodation at your own cost, you must notify the APAN Secretariat at least one month in advance to avoid non-refund of the accommodation allowance.
    • Please do not request a single room or specific roommates, or make independent bookings without notification, as this disrupts planning.

Important Airfare requirements

  • Airfare is NOT covered under the Fellowship program.
  • Applicants must provide proof of airfare support (from their institution/organisation or self-funded) at the time of application. Without this letter, applications will be immediately rejected.
  • If you are self-funding your airfare, you may be required to submit a confirmed itinerary upon Fellowship acceptance.
  • We strongly advise checking flight availability and approvals before applying to avoid last-minute cancellations, which disrupt the selection process.
  • We are opening up the Fellowship earlier than usual to facilitate Visa and Flight processing, so please be mindful if you are accepted into the Fellowship of time sensitivity in getting your necessary documents.
